By purchasing and using Echo, you agree to these Terms as well as Apple’s App Store Terms and Conditions. The app is provided “as is” for your personal use. Your data remains on your device and under your full control.
1. Acceptance of the Terms
By purchasing, downloading, and using Echo (“the App”), distributed on the App Store under the name Echo Journal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and Apple’s App Store Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not purchase or use the App.
2. Service description
Echo is an emotional journaling app that allows you to:
- Record how you feel after each activity
- Track your emotional patterns
- Visualize the impact of your activities on your well-being
- Export your data for personal use
3. Purchase and license
3.1 One-time purchase
Echo is offered as a one-time purchase via Apple’s App Store. Once purchased, you may use the App on all your iOS devices linked to your Apple account at no additional cost.
3.2 Granted license
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Echo in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s App Store Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the App
- Use the App for commercial purposes
- Create derivative works based on the App
- Resell or transfer your license to a third party
4. Intellectual property
Echo, its design, code, features, and content are protected under intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
5. Your data and content
5.1 Ownership
You retain all rights to the data and content you create in Echo (emotional entries, photos, videos, etc.). We claim no ownership rights over your personal content.
5.2 Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your content and its backup. We recommend using the export feature regularly to keep a copy of important data.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use Echo in a legal and appropriate manner. You must not use the App to:
- Store illegal or offensive content
- Violate the rights of others
- Attempt to compromise the App’s security
- Bypass the App’s protection mechanisms
7. Disclaimers
7.1 “As is” service
Echo is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that:
- The App will operate without interruption or errors
- Defects will be corrected within a specific time
- The App will meet all your specific needs
7.2 Medical advice
Echo is not a medical device. The App does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. If you have concerns about your mental health, consult a qualified professional.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
- Any loss of data or content
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Loss of profits or opportunities
- Service interruptions
- Any event beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)
Our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for the App.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of the rights of a third party
10. Changes
10.1 To the Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may release updates to improve features, fix bugs, or ensure compatibility. These updates are generally free via the App Store.
11. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store policies. Please refer to Apple’s refund terms for more information.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Paris, France. For users outside the EU, applicable jurisdiction may vary depending on local laws.
13. General provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us
- Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect
- Waiver: No waiver will be effective without written agreement
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights without our consent
