Echo is designed with your privacy as our top priority. All your personal data stays on your device. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Echo. This privacy policy applies to the Echo app, available on the App Store under the name Echo Journal. Any reference to “Echo” in this document refers to the same application, regardless of the name under which it is displayed or distributed.
This policy explains how we protect your privacy when you use our emotional journaling app. At Echo, we believe that your emotions and personal data belong exclusively to you.
2. Data Collection
2.1 Personal Data
Echo does NOT collect any personally identifiable information. This includes, but is not limited to:
- No name or contact information
- No email address
- No precise location data
- No device identifiers
- No account information (the app works without an account)
2.2 Anonymous Usage Data (optional)
With your explicit consent, Echo may collect completely anonymous usage data via TelemetryDeck to improve the app:
- Features used (without content)
- Frequency of use
- Types of entries created (without emotional content)
- Theme and language preferences
- App and operating system version
This data is fully anonymized on-device and cannot be used to identify you. You can disable this collection at any time in the app settings.
2.3 Error Reports (optional)
With your permission, Echo may send anonymous error reports via Sentry to help us fix bugs. These reports contain only technical information about the error (e.g., iOS version, device type, stack trace) and no personal data.
2.4 Legal Basis (GDPR)
The legal basis for collecting anonymous usage data and error reports is your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings without affecting your use of Echo.
3. Data Storage
All your emotional entries, photos, videos, and other personal content are stored locally on your device only. Echo does not use any cloud servers to store your personal data. Your data remains entirely under your control.
4. Data Sharing
Echo NEVER shares your personal data with third parties. The only data leaving your device is:
- Anonymous usage data (if you have allowed it)
- Technical error reports (if you have allowed it)
- Data you explicitly choose to export or share
5. Security
Echo uses iOS built-in security features to protect your data:
- Face ID or Touch ID protection (optional)
- On-device data encryption
- No personal data transmission over the Internet
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Disable analytics data collection at any time
- Export all your data in standard formats (CSV, JSON)
- Delete all your data by uninstalling the app
- Reset your anonymous identifier at any time
7. Children
Echo is designed to be used by people of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal data, the app is safe for children. However, we recommend parental supervision for users under 13 years old.
8. Changes
If we change this privacy policy, we will notify you via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the app after these changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

- Apple App Store Privacy Guidelines
